Here is another 2D work, as opposed to my more standard 3D stuff.

Also, it's been a while since my last post. . . sorry about that.

To explain the delay : when I was posting my last page, I thought I had a clear plan to move forward with the story. And I did. However, at another level, I began to feel that I was headed in the wrong direction. And that my previous plan to move forward was only taking me farther off track.

After some consideration and re-thinking, the good news is that I think I've found a way to move forward from where we were in a way that I'm happy with.

Comments:

great 2D work. You are truly multi-talented.

Thank you! It's great to hear you say that! And, as always, I appreciate your comments! :-)

How have you been chris-tar?

I have to honestly say that I am a life long sufferer of pain from a car wreck and other health problems, so it has been rough. However, Comicfury is a place that helps take that all off my mind. Hope you are doing better than I am.

I'm sorry to hear that there are problems. . .

The car-wreck thing could get any of us. So lots of sympathy there.

I wish that I had words that could be more helpful.

It is always great to have you around, and I'm glad that Comicfury helps you.

You definitely help make Comicfury a great place to be.

No problem. I always try to look for the best qualities in my fellow artist's work. I almost never criticize.

*ggg* Contrary to Chris-Tar, I almost always criticize, so here is some: While I like your 2D work (it surely has something, I agree with "multi-talented") as well, I liked your latest 3D work better. If you didn't start the comic with 3D renders, you wouldn't have me spoiled about it ;D

Out of curiosity, is the game making any progress?

Edit: That said... I wouldn't know where to begin trying to get a face like Willy's right, not even thinking about the highlight like the ones you put into it.

Thanks for the kind words. And I always appreciate the input (critical and otherwise).

It is good to hear that you like the 3D stuff, and I'll be back to that medium very soon. However, there may be a bit more 2D work first. . .

From my perspective, the 2D and 3D stuff is very connected. Much of the same artistic understanding goes into both sculpting and drawing.

Of course, there are differences. With the sculpting, I don't need to think about how things would appear as a 2D image from a given angle, but just what they are as objects in space.

The drawing is still a bit easier for me to use as a concepting medium, although that is possibly because I started off drawing. It seems a bit faster and easier to get those ideas down that way. Drawing the characters numerous times helps me get a better feel for them, and is a good set-up for eventually sculpting a better 3D models. Which is why I may be doing a bit more drawing before getting back to the 3D stuff.

Regarding the game : this summer has not been good for progress on either the comic or the game. I've been traveling, and stuff like that. But things should start moving along on both the comic and game as we get into the Fall season. As I post new pages, I'll also keep things updated on the progress of the game.
